Counter 5.1 reports

Modified on Tue, 4 Feb at 5:48 PM

The ICE Virtual Library now supports data collection and reporting in compliance with the COUNTER Code of Practice Release 5.1. Since data collection began in January 2025, COUNTER5.1 reports will start providing data from February 2025 onward. Please use the COUNTER 5.0 report option for usage prior to Jan 2025.

Reports that comply with the 5.1 release differ from those of the previous iteration of COUNTER5, as follows:
  • Chapters are the primary metric for book usage. Consequently, the Section Type attribute has been removed from reports as part of this enhancement.
  • A new Global Item report is available that combines attributed usage from every institution with non-attributed usage linked to the world.
  • A new Free to Read access type is available for materials that are temporarily accessible to everyone.
  • The Usage Data section of the Institutional Administration interface is updated to include a COUNTER5.1 section.
