- What do the access icons mean?
When viewing a journal page on ICE Virtual Library, you will see a green icon next to any issues or articles to which you have access. The Full Access icon indicates that you have access to that journal, issue or article as a result of your access rights or because the content is free. The Open Access icon indicates that the author or their funder has paid to allow the content to be freely available for all.
- How do I gain access?
If you have been authenticated by your institution/organisation, the welcome message will include its name here:
If this isn't visible then you may be able to sign in using Shibboleth or OpenAthens SSO. Simply click on 'Sign in' and follow the link to 'Access via your institution' - What happens if I don't have access?
If you don't have access, then you will see this message at the end of the abstract. - Can I pay for access?
Individual articles, chapters or complete books may be purchased by following the 'Purchase' option which is visible at the bottom of the article or chapter page. Please see our more detailed guidance here.
