Entitlement FAQs

  • What are my access entitlements as an ICE Member?
ICE Publishing produces a wide range of journals that share the latest research, expert advice and best practice in civil engineering and construction. Our leading journals are vital in supporting the ICE's commitment to knowledge transfer within our community.

As part of this commitment, we provide our members with many exclusive benefits via the ICE Virtual Library. These include:
    • Free access to four standard issues of Civil Engineering a year
    • Great-value member discounts of up to 90% on all other journals under a personal license agreement
    • Free access to three years of back files for all subscribed-to journals
    • Free access to all journal papers in the archive 1836-1900

To learn more about our journals and member discounts, please visit the ICE Publishing page on www.ice.org.uk.

  • I have been an ICE member for over 8 years so why cant I see content beyond the last three years?
Your annual membership includes free access to three years of back files based on your current membership period. There is no perpetual access to content beyond that timeline.

  • Why am I seeing a pay-to-view option for some content?
Not all content on the Virtual Library is included in your ICE membership. Any content which falls outside of your provision is offered at a significant discount. This price is displayed at the bottom of the article abstract and once purchased, is available to download for 24 hours.

  • How do I manage my ICE subscriptions?
You can manage your subscriptions via your 'My Subscriptions' page .
